A Birthday Party

Cooper recently had the big number one birthday. Being his mother I have been somewhat of a slacker and it has taken me time to post. Well, here are the highlights of his party.

Been a long time

So much has been going on and that is why I haven't posted. Okay, that is a lie. I have just been lazy. Updates. Mike is still working and enjoying it. I am still home with Cooper and enjoying it. Cooper is still eating new foods and enjoying it. There, we are all happy.

The weather is finally beginning to look a lot more like summer. Yesterday we played in the pool and went for a walk.

I realize these might not be the BEST pictures but it's what I have...

Cooper enjoyed his first root beer float with Dad the other day. As you can see from the video below he loves treats.

He has been very adventurous with new "grown up" foods. He loves fresh fruit, cottage cheese, peas, corn, pastas and spaghetti. However, last week he came got sick with a stomach bug and has since gone back to eating baby food. I'm sure his love for food will come back when he realizes he isn't going to barf it all back up.

We are going camping this weekend so I will try to get some good pictures of that.

Cooper is also enjoying standing next to things.

Fun Pictures

Cooper enjoys watching Yo Gabba Gabba from the comfort of his jumper. And yes, he will watch and entire program of it which makes me want to gouge my eyes out as I listen to DJ Lance Rock and all of his annoyingness.

Second is just a cute picture. He's teething right now so he is constantly biting on his lower lip.

Fun in the Sun

On Thursday, Cooper and I were able to spend the day down in Ogden at Jen's. The weather was amazing and we were able to spend the afternoon outside. Cooper was able to experience many things including, the swing, the slide, and walking on grass. He didn't mind the grass; he did mind a little rock or two. As usual, let me just say that I absolutely hate the way I sound on any and all recordings. He has been having a lot of fun being able to be outside. He loves the wind and squeals when it blows in his face. What could be better?

Happy Easter

I know it isn't here yet but I just finished putting together Cooper's Easter Present. I'm quite proud of myself since I usually leave this stuff up to Mike. Tomorrow I'm going to the store to get some "grass" for his easter basket and I'll make it up of new foods for him to try. As many of you know I HATE anticipation. What's worse is that I hate anticipation for my child who doesn't even know what that means! I want to give him his present so badly NOW! Christmas is going to be killer for me this year. I wonder if Santa gets this excited...?

Hotshot

Cooper has taken his first steps...with help of course.

Karo for Constipation

So poor Cooper has had some pooper problems. He isn't constipated but his poops are just a little to hard for a baby. The doctor recommended that I give him a half teaspoon of dark Karo Syrup mixed with cereal to help with this issue. However, my baby has been boycotting cereal and would not eat a bite. So I just gave it to him straight. He LOVED it. Now he will eat it with cereal. Figures...I have a sugar baby.

A Tasty Treat

So I had done some laundry today and was taking clothes upstairs to put away. I had laid Cooper on the floor and when I returned he apparently found a tasty treat to snack on...my sports bra. Clean clothes are his newest favorite thing to chew on.

Bad Mommy

I was a bad mommy. A very bad mommy. I let my 5 month old try his first sucker. I'm going to blame most of this on Jen's bad influence though. On my own I would have never done this! I think he really enjoyed it. Maybe at first he wasn't sure but when he didn't have it anymore, he wanted it! What do you think??

I hate to admit this but...it's a party in the USA

So, Cooper and I were listening to Launch Radio the other day and as many of you know, I'm an excellent dancer and my son loves watching me dance (one day he too will wow the world with his moves). Well this song came on and Cooper basically went crazy. He gets quite animated when he is excited. I would like to say that I only listened to it because he likes it, however, that's not the case. It's quite catchy, especially the, "Noddin' my head like yeah, movin' my hips like yeah." So anyway, give it a go, you too may be noddin' your head like yeah.

My lifesaver

So my baby who used to be an excellent sleeper has become a restless sleeper. He rolls, grunts, spits his paci out, and wakes himself up. At night I could hear his little stomach rumbling and he would have gas. I did some research on the internet and I found this. Colic Calm. I have tried it over the past few nights and it works really well, almost instantly at calming him down. It's homeopathic and FDA approved so I feel okay about giving it to him. I was a little alarmed because it is black. You have to be careful because if they spit it out it will stain his clothes, so always have a wet wipe handy. Second drawback is that it makes his poop black. I mean BLACK. Like worse than meconium black because there is so much more of it. However, a good nights rest is more important to me so I am willing to sacrifice cleaning those black nasty diapers. It works for colic, gas, stomach aches, bloating, and acid reflux. Like I said, it's a miracle worker!

Roll Over Beethoven

After a long two and a half hour nap, Cooper woke up willing and ready to show off his new skill. I have consistently encouraged him to roll over but all he would do is scrunch his back leg up in an attempt to flip himself. This afternoon he managed to do this maneuver with ease. He's just getting so big! Sniff!

Baby Bites

So Cooper has started on rice cereal. This isn't his first attempt, it's his third so he is getting quite good now =). I made it with formula the first time and when I tasted it, I thought it was rotten! Formula is pukey! So now I make it with water and he likes it much better. He also prefers it to be thicker. He thinks he is quite big when he eats his meals with mom and dad.

I realize that I post a lot of pictures of Cooper laughing, but I think it's so dang cute that I just can't resist. Plus this is mostly for family so if you're sick of seeing his baby giggles, don't watch!

TV Junkie and Mr. Cranky Pants

So yesterday I was telling Jen that Cooper likes to watch TV. He prefers football over anything, his next preference would be action movies such as the new Star Trek, followed by whatever else is on TV. Well, I let him watch one Mickey Mouse Clubhouse a day. And as you can see, he still finds it very interesting. The next clip is what I like to call, "Cooper missing Uncle Matt until he realizes how much fun Mom is." He is having a particularly rough day today. I think it's mostly because he's bored since someone is not playing with him every second. Also, he has a stuffy nose due to the dryness and the awesomeness of his humidifier and he refuses to let me help him by removing his boogers. So yes, he does snort while laughing but it's only because of his stuffy nose. I also feel it necessary to that while in the second video it may sound like I have become a mouth breather, I have not. I'm just making that sound to create a more exciting experience for Cooper has the sheet flies up into the air (JEN).

Prince Cooper and the foam throne

Cooper received this bumbo chair from Mike and me for Christmas. I call it his foam throne. He enjoys it more than laying down because this way he doesn't miss out on anything. He enjoys sitting in his bumbo chair and watching the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I mostly just wanted to show off his amazing skills.
