Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Mike flew into Chicago late last night and Cooper, Bill, and I went and picked him up. He was very happy to see Cooper and Cooper was very happy to see him. Josh, Marie, and their kids got in last night as well. The boys and Opal and just so cute! Opal is walking now and it's funny to see since she is just so little!

Last night was Mike's first night back with a baby. Coop woke up at three to eat and I asked Mike if he wanted me to get him or if he wanted to. He said that I could get him. When he woke up at seven for a diaper change and some breakfast I told Mike to change his diaper. Mike told me the diaper changing station was next to me. He did get up and get him. However, he broke the one night time rule he didn't know about. No talking to Cooper (he goes right back to sleep if we don't talk). Mike was over there just talking away to him. When I got him to feed him he was awake, excited, and talking and smiling away! I knew he wasn't just going to go back to bed like he usually does, so I stuck him next to Mike and went and took a shower. It's so nice have his daddy back!!

Cooper Pooper

I realize that all of my posts have to do with my son but he is a whole lot more interesting than I am! I happen to think poop is funny so I thought I would post this video. You have to listen carefully...

Stinky Pete

It's official, my baby is going to be the stinky kid in class. I didn't think babies stunk, other than their poopy diapers. Wrong!

I was holding Cooper during Sacrament meeting and his little clenched up fist found my shirt. He was exploring the fabric with his chubby hand, opening and closing it, and feeling my shirt. I kept getting a whiff of something very stinky! I finally grabbed his hand, smelled it, and almost gagged. Since he has discovered his hand with his mouth it doesn't have a chance to dry out and thus smells like a 30 year old pair of leather sandals.

Second, my little boy is so chubby his poor neck does not get much air either. His neck is a great place for him to hide his leftovers from the previous meal, so that also must be checked quite regularly and cleaned thoroughly.

Third, who thought a little boy could get stinky feet? He doesn't wear shoes...he doesn't walk around on them all day...he just lays around kicking them in the air. Somehow he has managed to do it. He has stinky feet, and it's old man stinky!

And the last place is his arm pit. I guess it makes sense but you just wouldn't think it would stink. It does. The end.

MONSTER!

As most of you know we gave Monster away after we found out we would be moving. With the move, a baby, and everything going on she was a little bit of a pistol to say the least. A family with two little girls from South Jordan adopted her. This morning they emailed me pictures and an update that she has adjusted very well! She tolerates the little girl for a few minutes but enjoys playing with the older one. They said she is the best cat ever and I'm glad they enjoy her so much and can give her the time and attention that she needs.

Lippy has been adopted by Jen. I'm grateful that she also has a good place to live and hope that she will be good company for Jen!

Cooper's Coo

Cooper and I have a fun game that I like to call Cooper's Coo. We imitate each other and the noise he is really good at imitating is a coo.

Cooper has also managed to find his hand, however, it can be a little difficult sometimes.

Welcome to our blog

I thought I would finally break down and try blogging. I've always been overwhelmed by it, but I have been encouraged to try it. So here we go! Now that we have a baby hopefully this will be a little more interesting than if it was just descriptions of Mike and my daily tasks!

On September 10th Mike and I were blessed with our beautiful baby boy, Cooper Michael. He was 8 pounds 1 ounce, 20 inches long, and had lots of black hair! Everyone says he looks just like his dad. He currently enjoys eating, sleeping, pooping, singing "Pop Goes the Weasel", hitting himself in the face, and watching his Baby Einstein video. He takes about a half hour to wake up and grunts very loudly while doing so. He is learning to smile and is reserved about giving them out. His Grandpa Bill calls him scowl face but he has many nicknames including Tooter, Bug, Bean, and Pooper (all given by me, Mike calls him Cooper or Bud). He is very content and we are so lucky to have him.
